וְהָאִ֥ישׁ יָרָבְעָ֖ם גִּבּ֣וֹר חָ֑יִל וַיַּ֨רְא שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה אֶת־הַנַּ֗עַר כִּֽי־עֹשֵׂ֤ה מְלָאכָה֙ ה֔וּא וַיַּפְקֵ֣ד אֹת֔וֹ לְכָל־סֵ֖בֶל בֵּ֥ית יוֹסֵֽף׃ (ס)
Ang lalaking si Jeroboam ay isang magiting at mahusay na tao. Nakita ni Solomon na masipag sa gawain ang binatang ito, kaya hinirang niya siya bilang tagapangasiwa sa lahat ng buwis at sapilitang paggawa ng sambahayan ni Jose.
